1. The Weapon
Elliot Moffat-Shojania
I mean who else? To quote Aiden Calvin “He's got hitters” In 2024, the biggest hitter that BC had to offer was none other than our once kid prodigy, Elliot. These days, you won't find anybody better or more adored by their community. The Weapon IS peak BC melee. Flashy, Fun, Dependable and talking a LOT of shit. Unlike Elliot's Atlanta Falcons he consistently shows up. With a 65th at GOML 33rd at BOBC 7th at Pataka and 1st at basically every weekly he attended AND 3 Puffins AND Going up. Elliot is without a doubt our most consistent and active top player both at home and away. Pray you don't have to face this demon in bracket, and pray harder that he doesn't smutty dance on you.

2. Polo
Simon F.
The Falcon Menace. Polo has had a stellar year, making top 64 at Battle of BC 6 and Don’t Park on the Grass, as well as winning multiple TGS’s. His electrifying style of Captain Falcon continues to delight spectators, and his fans will be hoping to see him tech chase and read his way to the number 1 spot in 2025.

3. Unruly
Avi Ahluwalia
The Jack of all Trades of BC, Unruly demonstrated his command of the melee cast this year, winning tournaments as fox, Marth, sheik, peach and puff. Taking his foot off the gas towards the end of the year stopped him from placing higher but we know that a fully focused Unruly has the skill and know-how to dominate the BC standings.

4. Espi
Darian
This guy is BC's Fox. In 2024 Espi was one of the most consistently competitive players on this list. There was almost no time you could really count him out of a tourney. He has multiple wins on almost every member of the BC Pr and a few other wins defending his house. 65th at Don't Park and BOBC, Top 5 at every TGS he attended, 2nd at the Puff n Play finale and 1st at Smasher Mountain make an impressive resume for our once young gun turned melee Vet. Whenever you're at a big tourney, put an ear to the wind. You'll almost always hear Darian clowning people in money matches.

5. BluePiñata
George N.
Can we just ban Icies? Just as BC rejoiced from finally being free of Fauxhebros death grip… Another Ices emerged. In 2024 Blue has taken sets off almost every member of this PR. He has been incredibly active, getting 33rd at BOBC6, 65th at Don't Park, 2nd at the GMO Arcadian and 1st at Sunshine Falls. George has proven that the climbers are still a problem in this region, and more importantly, that someone outside of our big four, can take BC tourneys. With frosty handoffs, it's only so long before George shows our friends down south the meaning of “True North”

6. Hagabooga
Cameron Hu
The Doc God. Hagabooga has been on the up in recent years and his jump from 10th in the last rankings to 6th shows how much he has improved. One of the only players in BC to win a TGS and being the only BC player to have a positive record on Unruly, Hagabooga is looking to take his mid-tier character to even greater heights.

7. Shmugs
Luca Paris-Griffiths
Blip Blip. You're dead. Blip Blip. You're dead again. The flashy, uber technical, hyper grounded fox is at it again. Last year Shmugs tormented much of the competition with his hyper demonic fox. He had an impressive 2024 showing with wins on Hagabooga, The Weapon, Espi and Og Kid. He was one of our best ranked players at BOBC 6, placing at 33rd. It's safe to say that whenever Luca emerges from his hyperbolic chamber he is a constant threat to BC's best and visiting players alike.

8. Amrak
Thomas Wheeler
Mr. Consistency. Amrak has taken a bit of a drop from his last placement of No. 1 on the 22’ pr but that is just a testament to how strong the competition has gotten recently. Having winning records against everyone below him and going even with Polo and BP in 2024, Amrak is already showing signs of returning to his rightful place at the top in 2025.

9. Zemi
Steven M.
‘Zemichael Jordan’. Zemi has had an astronomical rise to 9th place on the pr. Having only started competing in 2022 (with a box/nunchuck monstrosity), Zemi has shown a drive and dedication to improve unrivalled by anyone else in the region. A slew of great placings and top 10 wins in 2024 have acted as a springboard for an impressive start to 2025 and his ultimate goal of being the best in BC.

10. Antislycer
Samuel Liu
Have you or a loved one been a victim of Sam Antislycer? Don't worry, you aren't alone. The Big Dog of UBC melee took his talents to Alberta for half the year where he sliced his way through much of the competition, ending up at #6 on their PR. In the fall Sam returned to his UBC dominance, even managing to take sets off both Shmugs and The Weapon. It's safe to say that Antislycer stocks are up, and will only continue to rise in the 2025 season rankings.

Honorable Mentions
Ding Hing & Tammy
Both had some incredible performances at BOBC and the TGS series but ultimately just missed the train to top 10. Watch out for these two hitters as they go again in 2025!
